&lt;p&gt;Once you get used to packing the car with a large number of bags, it starts to just be a routine that you have.  Some people are more comfortable with alot of stuff and some feel ok with just the essentials.
The rule used to be, you can pack all you want but you have to able to carry it by yourself.
