Here’s what I’m thinking about:
| Camera | $442.00 |
| Lens | 76.30 |
| Bag | 69.95 |
| Memory Card | 29.41 |
| UV Filter | 6.70 |
| Extra Battery Pack | 39.34 |
| Monopod? | 22.16 |
| $685.86 |
All almost as much as just the body of an XTi ($677.00).

Is this still a digital SLR, or film? What brand/model out of curiosity?
Canon Digital Rebel XT.
Looks great to me. I’ve added that monopod to my thinking-about-buying list. The only thing I might suggest would be a 52mm polarizing filter, but that’s not urgent.
@Kevin – Is that the bag you have?
Also, the UV filter I have linked up there is a 58mm. That’s not right is it? Perhaps this one or this one?
Yeah, you’d want a 52mm filter for that lens. Either of those linked would do. And yes, that is the bag I have and love.
Also your last link is to a body + kit lens.
Whoops. I must have had it in my head because the body w/o lens is $700 at Richmond Camera. Only $589.99.
That’s a nice list, though I would consider getting at least table-top tripod capable of holding your new DSLR as well, as it’s pretty tough to use a monopod with a timer (ex. self portraits). Also, that’s a very large bag. You could probably save a little dough there.
I have a tripod already, so I don’t have to worry about that.
I thought that bag was fairly smallish. They have a couple of quite larger models. And anyway, it could double as my man-purse!
Trey – you’ll probably have just your 50mm lens plus the 35-80mm from your film Rebel, right? That’ll give you AMPLE space to make that your murse.
Oh I forgot to suggest a cheapass USB CF reader. Saves your battery life, keeps you from having to carry a cable, etc.
