Smells

One of my favorite things about riding a motorcycle is the intensified smells you experience. It’s like the fact that you don’t have a car surrounding you, but you’re still moving as fast, forces more air into your lungs.

As I was riding this evening up Brotherton Mountain, there were a number of smells I recognized:

  • Charcoal grill
  • Food cooking
  • Plants/flowers
  • Roadkill
  • Manure

The smells come and go so quickly, that even the bad smells usually aren’t that unpleasant.

  1. I like your new blog. Funny how something as simple as noticing the smells more when you’re motorcycling can be interesting. Now why can’t I think of something to write about that would be interesting??

Did you go riding by yourself, or did Megan go with you? or another friend on another motorcycle? I thought maybe I’d see you sometime today. Maybe tomorrow, huh? Although we have a potluck at church, and then a healing service after that, so I’ll be later getting home than usual. Then I need to call Uncle Dave about the Unity website, so I don’t know if I’ll get to Gridge’s or not.

This turned into what should have been an email message instead of a blog comment!

  2. The traiers for Little Miss Sunshine were really fun!

It was just me. I’ve been riding so seldom lately, that every once in a while I make a point to just ride–even if it’s only for a half an hour. That’s what I did yesterday.
